To celebrate the Golden Slipper Festival and the opening of the best racing facilities in Sydney, Sydney Turf Club is preparing last minute touches to the most coveted social event of the Autumn Racing Carnival – Golden Royale.
With a host of celebrities and racing elite attending the James Bond themed event expectations will be shaken and curiosity stirred. Sophistication will be served with a license to thrill culminating in a golden extravaganza not to be missed.
The refurbished Members’ Reserve is part of Sydney Turf Club’s $30 million Grand Pavilion development and includes the Bird Cage Cafe and Cotton Fingers Bar, named in honour of legendary jockey, the late George Moore. Located on the second floor of the Members’ Reserve, the new Grand View Terrace offers elevated and expansive views of the course and winning post. The area is designed to offer Members a diverse menu, which can be enjoyed in an open-air dining area with unspoilt views of the racing action.
The highlight of facilities is the much hyped Black Type Bar, a stylish meeting place for Members and thoroughbred owners. Only top shelf wines and spirits will be available, making the Black Type Bar unlike any other offered at a racecourse in Australia.
The Golden Slipper Festival kicks off at Canterbury Park this Saturday 5th April and includes eight Group 1 races throughout the carnival culminating in Australia’s richest day of racing, AAMI Golden Slipper Day at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday 19th April.
